Texas City has its new ball coach.

The Stingarees named La Marque head coach Shone Evans to the same position, brining Evans back to a place he previously spent 11 seasons on staff.

Evans spent the past four seasons leading the Cougars, including a 5-5 mark in 2021.

He'll take over a Texas City program that went 10-2 under former head coach Leland Surovik, who is now Texas City ISD Athletic Director.
