Prospect on the Rise

This week, Austin Vandegrift 2023 DL Daemian Wimberly (6'5, 255) added new in-state offers from Baylor and North Texas. 

The DCTF three-star also took an unofficial visit to SMU.  

Wimberley also holds offers from North Texas, SMU, Texas Tech and Louisiana Tech.

Commit of the Week

South Oak Cliff 2023 WR Randy Reece (5'10, 175) committed to SMU over offers from Houston, North Texas, UTSA, Texas Tech, Arizona, Purdue and more. 

Reece is rated as a DCTF three-star prospect. 

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Reece is the top stat-producing wide receiver on one of the state's top offensive units. Helped lead SOC to a state title. Reece is able to pile up yards after the catch, and his open-field elusiveness makes up for his lack of lead in the pencil.

Underclassman of the Week

Lorena 2024 WR Jadon Porter (6'2, 185) picked up a new offer from TCU. The Horned Frogs join Baylor and Oklahoma State on Porter's early offer list. 

Porter helped lead Lorena to a 3A Division I state championship and opened many eyes with an 85-yard performance in the 35-18 win over Brock at AT&T Stadium. 

He had 1,265 receiving yards and caught 13 TD passes to earn all-district honors. 

Porter was named the WR MVP at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Dallas.

Recruits of the Week

Denton Guyer 2023 QB Jackson Arnold (6'1, 195) and Dripping Springs 2023 Qb Austin Novosad (6'3, 180) earned invitations to the Elite 11 Finals following a strong performance at the regional stop in Dallas. 

Arnold, who is verbally committed to Oklahoma, checks in as the No. 1 rated QB in the DCTF Hot 100. 

Novosad, who is verbally committed to Baylor, checks in as the No. 2 QB in the DCTF Hot 100.
