Prospect on the Rise

Spring Westfield 2023 OG Ray'Quan Bell (6'3, 290) picked up an in-state offer from Baylor.

Bell also holds Houston, North Texas, UTSA, and Colorado State offers.

Bell was the OL MVP at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Houston.

Commit of the Week

Texas Tech added three new commitments this week: Mansfield S Brenden Jordan (6'0, 185), Clarendon ATH Jmaury Davis (6'2, 190), Lubbock Trinity Christian ATH Marcus Ramon-Edwards (6'4, 200).

Brenden Jordan Scouting Report: Jordan is a heavy hitter with the range to cover all areas of the field. He has quick feet and fluid hips and when he arrives at the ball carrier, he comes with explosive force and is angry.

Jmaury Davis Scouting Report: A two-way standout who is very athletic. His best upside may be on the defensive side of the football, where he can use his length and close-quarters explosion to get to the football in a hurry.

Marcus Ramon-Edwards Scouting Report: A three-sport high school athlete who helped lead his team to the state title game. He is used as his team's best offensive weapon, but he was recruited to play on the defensive side of the football.

Underclassmen of the Week

Daingerfield 2024 CB Aeryn Hampton (5'10, 175) committed to Texas over offers from Baylor, Houston, TCU, Texas Tech and more.

Hampton is a versatile athlete who has really emerged as a national recruit on the defensive side of the ball playing cornerback.

Growing up in East Texas, Hampton grew up a Texas fan to some extent and is aware of the power of the Longhorn brand.

"Texas is Texas. I've always been a Texas fan," Hampton said.

Recruit of the Week

Denton Ryan 2023 OLB Anthony Hill (6'3, 220) announced a top six: Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Miami (FL), Oklahoma and USC.

The DCTF five-star prospect collected 131 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss and eight sacks to earn all-state honors in 2021.

Hill has taken recent unofficial visits to see Texas A&M and Oklahoma.

There is no timetable yet announced for his final decision.
