Prospect on the Rise

Denton Guyer 2024 CB Eli Bowen (5'9, 165) saw his brother Peyton Bowen (Class of 2023) commit Notre Dame this week. Eli's fantastic sophomore season also has him on the national radar. 

Bowen helped lead Guyer to the state title game, collecting ten interceptions (three returned for touchdowns) and 54 tackles along the way. 

Bowen has been rewarded with early offers from Colorado and LSU, but keep an eye on his rise over the next few months as he has a unique ability to find the football and make monster plays. 

Commit of the Week

Cypress Park OLB Harold Perkins (6'2, 200) announced his commitment to Texas A&M over Texas and LSU at the Under Armour All-America Game. 

Perkins checks in at No. 6 in the DCTF Hot 100 and is rated as the No. 1 OLB in the state.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Perkins is a fearsome defender who flies to the football and showcases the type of closing speed that makes him an all-world recruit. He collected over 30 scholarship offers from some of the nation's best, and he will be a difference-maker in any defensive scheme. 

Underclassmen of the Week

Fort Bend Marshall 2023 WR Ja'koby Banks (5'10, 170) committed to Houston over offers from Texas A&M, Marshall and Pittsburgh. 

Banks was a DCTF Rising Top 100 selection. 

Scouting Report: Banks is an athlete playing quarterback. His best college position will likely be at wide receiver, where he can use his elusive ability to make plays after the catch. 

Recruit of the Week

South Oak Cliff 2022 CB Kyron Chambers (6'0, 195) was a late addition to the 2022 All-American Bowl. 

The DCTF three-star is rated as the No. 96 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100, checking in as the No. 11 CB in the state. 

Chambers, who is signed to play his college ball at TCU, recently helped lead SOC to a state championship win.
