Prospect on the Rise

Austin Westlake 2022 DE Ethan Burke (6'7, 225) committed to Michigan over offers from Baylor, Kansas State, Nebraska and Utah.

Burke has powered his way into the DCTF Hot 100 (No. 98) behind a strong showing as a senior in 2021.

Scouting Report: Burke is a long, rangy defensive end prospect who has an excellent first step and can get to the quarterback. Plays hard and shows above-average athleticism wrapped in a frame that has room for development. He will need to add significant mass to his frame to take the pounding upfront play in and play out, but the potential is there.

Commit of the Week

Lubbock-Cooper ILB Kobie McKinzie (6'2, 240) announced his commitment to Texas after taking an official visit to see the 'Horns.

The one-time OU commit checks in at No. 19 in the DCTF Hot 100. McKinzie is rated as the No. 1 ILB in the state.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: McKinzie emerged on the scene as a freshman, and his experience playing several different positions will serve him well once he arrives on the college football landscape. He has comfortably settled in at middle linebacker, where he quickly diagnoses plays and has the size to finish tackles.

Underclassmen of the Week

Willis 2024 WR DJ Lagway (6'2, 180) picked up a new offer from Georgia.

The DCTF Rising Top 25 member now has 10 offers: Arkansas, Baylor, Buffalo, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, LSU, TCU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

The son of former Baylor running back Derek Lagway is a talented dual-threat quarterback who possesses an abundance of natural arm talent.

Recruit of the Week

In the wake of the Mario Cristobal news, Summer Creek OT Kelvin Banks (6'5, 300) decommitted from Oregon.

The DCTF five-star is rated as the No. 4 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100, checking in as the No. 1 OT in the state.

Banks collected an abundance of offers, but Texas and Texas A&M were under heavy consideration when he made his commitment to the Ducks.
