A big reason why the Knights were able to make the playoffs for a second straight season and win 82% of their games this year was due to the high level of production from 2023 APB Re'Shaun Sanford II (5'9, 170). This season, there was not a single game that he didn't find a way to accumulate at least 200 all-purpose yards.

In total, Sanford accumulated 2,330 yards off 246 carries--averaging close to a first down per carry and finding the end zone 27 different times. From an all-purpose standpoint, the CenTex playmaker tacked on an additional 375 yards plus five more scores–breaking five school records in the process.

Sanford is aware of the season he put together but is already looking forward to what the future holds for not only him but a program that returns young talent.

"I feel like I had really good junior season. Everything I worked for was coming into play. It was disappointing at the end, but we're going to still wake up tomorrow. We're going to come back this offseason. I'm going to get bigger, faster, stronger and have a better year next year," Sanford said.

From a recruiting standpoint, Sanford has already reported offers from Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas and Central Arkansas. A handful of other schools have been circling the CenTex prospect but have yet to pull the trigger on an offer including Houston, TCU, Utah and Washington.

Sanford and Harker Height's season may have come to an abrupt close in the bi-district round, but he earned the respect of many across the state including DeSoto 4-star 2023 WR Johntay Cook who spoke in high regard of Sanford's on-field success.

"He's a baller. If he doesn't have any offers… this is coming from Johntay Cook he needs some. Cause he can move and he's strong. Yeah, he's nice," Cook said.

Scouting Report: The first thing that jumps off the screen is Sanford's elusiveness and big-play ability when the ball is in his hands. Despite being a bit undersized, he is more than capable of fighting through initial contact en route to gaining large chunks of yards. Complimenting his big-play ability is his field vision and awareness. Allowing him to change direction and flip the field. Sanford's other strengths of note are his willingness to block and his capability to catch the ball out of the backfield. His ability to catch the ball cleanly could allow coaches to move him around between running back and slot receiver. Truly a diverse skill set.

Not necessarily a weakness, but for him to crack into the elite level of P5 offers, he'll need to continue to show top-end speed on tape, including a next gear. Verified track times this offseason will help with that argument if he's able to run a low time on the laser.
