It’s an old school East Texas showdown in Tatum as Daingerfield and Elysian Fields lock horns in what should be everything that embodies football in East Texas, speed and hard-hitting defense.

Daingerfield rolled in their playoff opener with a lopsided 50-12 victory over Harmony. Two-way standout Dee Lewis tossed four touchdown passes and from his LB slot led a stout Tigers defense. Super sophomore Aeryn Hampton also tallied a pair of touchdowns, one on the ground and one receiving for Daingerfield.

Elysian Fields also took care of business in their bi-district matchup by taking out Kountze 48-17. RB William Goodnight ran for 217 yards and three touchdowns and also added eight tackled and an interception return for a touchdown to pace the ‘Jackets.

Expect this one to be close all the way through, but Daingerfield’s a bit more dynamic and that will be the key in this one.

Stepp’s Pick: Daingerfield by 6
