Another big one along the Texas coast this week as Lyford comes up from the Rio Grande Valley to take on unbeaten London in a key 16-3A Division I showdown. Lyford’s defense was the story last week as they opened district play with a 22-0 win over Falfurrias. A pair of second half touchdowns from the Bulldogs turned a nip and tuck game into a comfortable night for the Bulldogs faithful. London had a much easier time as the Pirates made short work of Bishop in an easy 56-0 win. London’s defense forced five first half turnovers and returned two interceptions for touchdowns as they raced out to a 42-0 halftime lead, London then proceeded to return the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown as well. London is an emerging power in South Texas and a dominant win will absolutely send a message in the 361.
