It’s a Top 5 matchup in 4A Division 1 as top-ranked Argyle heads south on I-35 take on a familiar foe in No. 5 Waco La Vega.

Argyle extended its regular season winning streak to 59 games as it dominated third ranked 4A-Division II opponent Celina 23-0. While Argyle has been able to put the hurt on teams recently, their defense shined in this win. CB Jett Copeland had two interceptions in the game, including a Pick Six, as the Eagles forced five turnovers, including four interceptions.

Quarterback Jacob Robinson continued to shine as he threw 12 of 17 for 162 yards and a touchdown.

Waco La Vega took a big loss last week on the road against fourth-ranked Austin LBJ, 28-7.

La Vega’s offense could only muster a first-half touchdown, and they had no answers for the balanced LBJ attack.

Argyle didn’t need its offense much in its win last week but don’t believe it’s not there. This Argyle team is primed to make another deep run and La Vega will need a lot to go their way to keep this one close at home.
