Prospect on the Rise

Duncanville 2022 DE Omari Abor (6'4, 245) is the fourth prospect in the Class of 2022 to earn DCTF five-star staus, joining Southlake Carroll QB Quinn Ewers, Galena Park North Shore CB Denver Harris, and Summer Creek OT Kelvin Banks Jr.

Abor checks in as the No. 3 prospect in the state and the No. 1 DE.

The newly-minted five-star is most seriously considering offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Abor now has plans to make an unofficial visit to Texas this weekend. Could the news of OU and UT moving to the SEC make waves in Abor's recruitment?

Commit of the Week

2022 Argyle DT Jadon Scarlett (6'2, 265) committed to Texas A&M over offers from Missouri and Oklahoma.

Scarlett checks in at No. 57 in the DCTF Hot 100.

Scouting Report: Scarlett is a tackling machine on the defensive front. He collected over 100 tackles as a sophomore season before moving and playing defensive tackle as a junior in 2020. Scarlett has a nose for the ball, sniffing out the ball carrier.

Underclassmen of the Week

DCTF four-star 2023 WR Ashton Cozart (6'3, 180) has been one of the state's hottest recruits this summer.

Alabama is his most recent offer, bringing his offer tally up to 23. Cozart also recently added an offer from Oklahoma, a school that he mentioned he had a high interest in during an interview with DCTF.

Schools like TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida and Miami (FL) have also offered.

Cozart, who transferred to Richland from the state of Washington in 2020, is now playing at Flower Mound Marcus and will add an exciting element to the offense.

Recruit of the Week

2022 Port Arthur Memorial CB Jaylon Guilbeau (6'0, 175) decommitted from Texas.

"After careful consideration with my family and countless hours of prayer, I have decided that it is in my best interest to reopen my recruitment and decommit from the University of Texas," Guilbeau reported.

Guilbeau took an official visit to TCU in June and the Horned Frogs are thought to be a strong player in this recruitment.

The No. 33 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100 also reports offers from schools like Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma State, Oregon, USC and many more.
