SMU stole the show on a busy recruiting weekend by gaining a commitment from Garland 2022 WR Jordan Hudson (6'1, 180), who committed to the Mustangs over offers from Texas, TCU, Alabama and Oklahoma. The one-time OU commit formed a strong bond with SMU assistant Ra’shaad Samples. Hudson checks in at No. in the DCTF Hot 100. This is a HUGE addition to the SMU recruiting class.

Scouting Report: Hudson is a wide receiver who already has the size and frame to make an early college impact. He is a big-time playmaker on the outside and in the return game. Hudson has very good ball skills, sometimes making acrobatic catches.

Note: SMU also gained a commitment from Arlington 2022 OT Jacob Waller (6'5, 285). Waller is rated as a DCTF three-star.

  • Texas actually kicked off the weekend of recruiting news with two huge offensive line commits in Frisco 2022 OG Cole Hutson (6'5, 310) and Austin Westlake OT Connor Robertson (6'4, 295). Hutson is rated as the No. 41 in the DCTF Hot 100. Robertson is rated as the No. in the DCTF Hot 100.

  • Oregon dipped into Texas for the commitment of Summer Creek 2022 OT Kelvin Banks Jr. (6'5, 300) Banks was thought to be leaning towards Texas or Texas A&M, so his announcement to attend the PAC-12 power surprised many. Banks is rated as a DCTF five-star checking in at No. 3 in the state. Oregon now boasts commitments from FIVE TXHSFB prospects: OT Kelvin Banks Jr. (Summer Creek), OT Cameron Williams (Duncanville), CB Landon Hullaby (Mansfield Timberview), WR Nicholas Anderson (Katy), WR Stephon Johnson (DeSoto)
  • Beaumont West Brook 2022 S Bryce Anderson (6'0, 190) officially announced that he was down to two schools: Texas and Texas A&M. Anderson was scheduled to make an announcement on July 4 but has pushed his commitment timeline back. He still plans to have a decision before the start of the 2021 season. Anderson is rated as the No. 1 S in the DCTF Hot 100.
  • As discussed on This Week in Recruiting last Wednesday, Missouri snagged a commitment from El Paso Burges 2022 RB Tavorus Jones (5'10,195), who picked the Tigers over offers from Texas, Alabama and Penn State. Jones checks in at No. 15 in the DCTF Hot 100.
  • Austin Westlake 2022 QB Cade Klubnik (6'2, 185) went out to the Elite 11 and stole the show, earning MVP honors at the nation's most prestigious QB camp. Klubnik is committed to Clemson and is rated as the No. 2 QB prospect in the DCTF rankings. Additionally, Southlake Carroll QB Quinn Ewers (Ohio State), Cypress Bridgeland QB Connor Weigman (Texas A&M) and Flower Mound QB Nick Evers were all named 'Elit 11'.
  • Two TXHSFB three-stars committed to programs just north of the border when Colleyville Heritage 2022 CB Dylahn McKinney (6'0, 175) committed to Oklahoma State over Arizona and Arlington Seguin 2022 ATH Xavion Brice (6'1, 175) committed to Oklahoma over Texas.
