Lexington 2022 S Jared Kerr (6'0, 185) is one of the state's best two-way players and has collected 20 scholarship offers, but his focus will be on the defensive side of the ball moving forward.

"Definitely, safety," Kerr said when asked what position he plans to play in college. "I really like being able to get after the football, and that's the position I feel like fits me best."

On the recruiting front, Kerr has recently worked in official visits to see Texas A&M and Baylor.

Begging the question, who else does he need to see before making a commitment?

"No one," Kerr reported. "I'm going to be having a decision coming real soon."

Kerr informed that his decision would be coming down to Baylor and Texas A&M and it looks like one in-state program will be getting good news sooner versus later.

Texas A&M: First, it is close to where I stay. It was a really good visit and they have a great team.

Baylor: Relationships. They were my first offer and that means a lot to me.

What will Kerr be looking for when it comes time to make a decision?

"Winning," Kerr answered when asked what he had to have in a college. "I feel like I have to have a program that gets it done on the field and that means winning games."

Kerr is rated as the No. 49 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100.
