San Antonio Southside 2022 QB Richard Torres (6'5, 210) has verbally committed to Nebraska.

Torres collected eight scholarships, picking the Huskers over offers from schools like UTSA, Kansas State, Utah and Washington State.

Scouting Report: Torres is a tall quarterback with a big arm. He has the arm power to make all of the throws, especially when given the time to get the ball deep down the field. He shows good pocket presence and escapability when things break down or he is asked to work outside of the pocket. He has the skill to develop into a special player.

As a junior in 2020, Torres racked up over 1,400 yards and 23 touchdowns to earn District Offensive MVP honors. He helped guide Southside to a 9-2 record.

Torres is rated as a DCTF three-star prospect, checking in as the No. 10 QB in the state.
