Klein ISD promoted offensive coordinator Brandon Carpenter to head football coach at Klein Oak on Tuesday. He replaces Jason Glenn, who moved into administrative role within Klein ISD.

Glenn, a former standout at Texas A&M, spent four seasons leading Oak and posted a 31-15 overall record. Carpenter had been Glenn’s offensive coordinator for all four of those seasons.

Carpenter does have head coaching experience as he spent six seasons leading Cleveland Tarkington from 2010-2015. In his first four seasons, a struggling Tarkington program won just four games, but in 2014 he led the Longhorns to a 7-5 record, posting their first playoff appearance since 1956 and their first playoff win in school history. He led Tarkington back to the playoffs in 2015 with a 4-7 record.
