Jequez Ezzard, WR, Sam Houston

The Sam Houston defense is very talented, but the addition of graduate transfer Jequez Ezzard from Howard has made a huge difference in multiple games for the Kats this spring.

The College Park, Ga. native, was spectacular against UIW with 155 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions while adding 19 yards and a touchdown rushing.

His numbers look even more impressive, considering Ezzard is currently nursing an Achilles injury and was noticeably hobbling at times on the sideline during the game.

Storey Jackson, DB, Prairie View A&M

The Prairie View A&M Panthers may not have played a game in over a month, but defensive back Storey Jackson did not miss a beat.

The senior transfer from Hutchinson Community College was terrific in the Panthers 36-31 loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a battle of unbeaten teams.

Jackson registered 13 total tackles, seven solo, with 3.5 tackles for loss against the Golden Lions.

The Panthers, who returned to action following two separate pauses within the program for CoVID-19 protocols, are slated to play Jackson State and Tigers coach Deion Sanders next Saturday in Jackson, Miss.
