The UTSA signee was must-see every week for Sharyland Pioneer High School, where he became the Rio Grande Valley's all-time passing touchdown leader on Dec. 11 after throwing the 88th passing TD of his career.
He passed for 8,966 yards and rushed for 2,381 yards during his four years, including completing 203 of 306 passes for 3,365 yards and 36 TDs and rushed 131 times for 1,177 yards and 26 scores as a senior.
His best game came when he passed for 444 yards and four TDs and ran for 247 yards and six scores in a 77-64 regional semifinal victory against Georgetown Eastview.
