Texas-based colleges are known nationwide for fast-paced offenses that put a ton of points on the scoreboard.
But did you know that the state has produced more defensive NFL draft picks in recent years? Much more.
In the past three NFL drafts, Texas colleges have sent 54 position players to the league and 32 of them played defense (60%).
Houston DT Ed Oliver and UTSA DE Marcus Davenport were the top two highest picks coming at No. 9 and No. 14. Texas Tech LB Jordyn Brooks, TCU DE L.J. Collier, and TCU CB Jeff Gladney were also first-round picks.
The highest offensive draft pick was TCU WR Jalen Reagor at No. 21, and he was the only offensive pick in the first round.
Surprisingly, no quarterbacks from a Texas-based college have been selected in the past three drafts.
