Prospect on the Rise

Baylor added a new commitment from Pflugerville Hendrickson 2022 DT Cedric Roberts (6'3, 280)

Roberts is an under-the-radar prospect from a Central Texas program that is known to produce many top-tier prospects.

Baylor is Roberts' lone offer, but he is an athletic big man with a high ceiling for development.

Commit of the Week

Austin Westlake 2022 QB Cade Klubnik (6'2, 180) committed to Clemson over offers from Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina and more.

Klubnik is rated as a DCTF four-star prospect.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Klubnik's arm strength is readily apparent. The ball jumps out of his hand. He has the arm to push the ball vertically. His velocity opens up the middle of the field, allowing him to pick defenses apart easily.

Underclassmen of the Week

2023 El Campo RB Rueben Owens II (5'11, 190) picked committed to Texas over offers from schools like Baylor, Texas A&M, Auburn, Georgia, Oklahoma and more.

Owens is rated as a DCTF four-star prospect.

Quick Hitter: Owens was the first freshman to ever win RB MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase. He has picked up 20 scholarship offers and is one of the nation's top-rated running backs. He is a big playmaker who accelerates quickly to gash defenses.

Additionally, Texas added a commitment from Aledo 2022 S Bryan "BJ" Allen Jr. this week and DCTF subscribers can read an in-depth report on 5A Defensive Player of the Year by following the link below.

Recruit of the Week

2022 Katy S/CB Bobby Taylor (6'1, 180) committed to Texas A&M over Texas, Alabama, and Michigan offers.

Taylor is rated No. 27 in the DCTF Hot 100 and is a four-star prospect.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Taylor is a unique defensive back prospect. You rarely find legitimate cornerback prospects with his size and physicality and he could easily transition to safety. As you can imagine, Taylor thrives in press coverage. The son of former Notre Dame defensive back Bobby Taylor Sr.
