Seguin AD/HFC Travis Bush announced to his team on Thursday that he was leaving Seguin to take over at New Braunfels Canyon.

Bush, who is expected to be officially approved by Comal ISD early this week, spent five seasons leading Seguin, compiling a 23-29 overall record. However, in the last three seasons the Matadors have been a solid 19-13, posting winning records in 2018 and 2020.

Bush, who has college and NFL experience and is the son of South Texas coaching icon Bruce Bush, takes over at Canyon for Joe Lepsis, who led the Cougars to an 11-2 mark in 2020.

His departure leaves an attractive opening at Seguin that is both AD/HFC in a one school ISD, but also of note are some impressive facility updates the Seguin has made in recent years.
