Steve Sarkisian is off to a fast recruiting start at Texas, and the addition of Frisco Liberty 2022 WR Evan Stewart (6'0, 175) bolstered an already impressive class.

Stewart committed to Texas over offers from schools like Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and more. The 'Horns now hold non-binding verbal commitments from TXHSFB's No. 1 rated RB (Jaydon Blue, Klein Cain) and No. 2 rated WR (Armani Winfield, Lewisville) as well as five-star California-based QB Maalik Murphy.

UT jumped to No. 5 nationally in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings.

Stewart is rated as a DCTF four-star, checking in as the No. 3 WR and the No. 22 prospect overall in the DCTF Hot 100.

As a junior in 2019, Stewart hauled in 46 receptions for 913 yards and nine touchdowns to help lead the Redhawks to the 5A Division II playoffs.

Scouting Report: Stewart is known for his 10.74 100-meter and 21.08 200-meter speed. He is one of the state's most athletic receivers regardless of classification. He can accelerate quickly and run away from the fastest defensive backs in the open field. His short-area quickness and leaping ability only add to his allure as a prospect. Stewart is a prospect who will excel playing in the slot and create a lot of mismatches there.
