Dixie State (0-0) at No. 22 Tarleton (1-1)

When: 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Stephenville, Texas.

Broadcast: ESPN+

The Matchup: It has not taken long for Tarleton to become the talk of the FCS spring season after nearly defeating McNeese and then a dominating win over FBS New Mexico State that vaulted the Texans into the national rankings.

This week may be the best measure for where Tarleton is during its first year of transition to Division I. They welcome Dixie State who is in its first year of transitioning to the FCS level. This could be the start of a rivalry between future WAC foes.

Players to Watch:

Tarleton - Devin Hafford, DB, Sr, Atascocita, Texas (Atascocita HS)

Ronnell Wilson - LB, Sr, Abilene, Texas (Abilene HS)

Gabe Douglas, WR, Jr, Shreveport, La. (Denton Ryan HS)

Dixie State - Kody Wilstead, QB, Jr, St. George, Utah (BYU)

Chase Hess, TE, Sr, Taylorsville, Utah (Snow College)

Dylan Hendrickson, DL, Jr, St. George, Utah (Pine View HS)

Key to Victory: Tarleton is receiving the recognition it deserves after two impressive performances. However, the Texans will need to remain focused this week with a talented Trailblazer squad. The Texans are used to handling success in recent years.

Who will start at quarterback for the Texans? Does it even matter? Tarleton has depth at key positions and could have four of the five starters back who missed last week.

Prediction: Tarleton by 14
