Denton Ryan 2023 LB Anthony Hill Jr. (6'1, 200) is a part of a vaunted Raider defense playing in Arlington for the UIL 5A Divison I State Championship against Cedar Park.
From start to finish of this 2020-21 season, the Ryan defense has been considered one of the state's best units.
Denton Ryan continues to churn out such stifling defenses because of the high level of talent that continues to make up their roster year after year.
Hill is an example of the continuation of talent.
Hill is excited for the state title opportunity this week.
"I mean it's fun, man. Doing it for the seniors, the seniors last year and just trying to get this win for the team. We hold the rope. We all play as a unit and make turnovers happen together," Hill said in regard to playing with this Ryan defense.
While it's still early in his recruitment, Hill has already earned 19 offers from Division I programs all over the country. Highlighting that list so far are schools like Alabama, Florida, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M and USC.
"I haven't been talking to a lot of schools, but I'm definitely just keeping my options open," Hill said.
As you can see from the list above, the who's who of college football has shown intrigue in the Denton Ryan prospect. While Hill didn't detail too much of his dialogue with schools, he did mention one school that he's still looking to gain an offer from going forward.
"I'm looking for a Clemson offer," Hill said while adding "I'm looking for a good education and a scheme that fits me. Good coaches and staff as well."
After Friday's game Hill will transition into his second offseason in his high school career. He looks forward to growing in several facets of his game while also participating in 7-on-7.
"I'm looking to get a little stronger and work on my agility too. Get in the weight room and get on the ladder, 7-on-7," Hill stated.
With a prospect like Hill coming up through the Denton Ryan program, the Raiders' future looks to be in good hands.
