Sometimes a recruit finds what he needs early in the recruiting process and this the case with Cy-Ranch CB Romario Noel (6-3, 202)

Noel's first offer from Baylor came in March 2019 and he committed in September 2019.

At the time, he had no other offers.

In the end, he didn't need any more as the DCTF three-star officially joined the Bears in the Early Signing Period.

"I like the (new) coaching staff at Baylor. I committed to the program when coach (Matt) Rhule was there," Noel said. "Still, I bonded with the team and my love for the program stayed the same. I liked it a lot."

It's clear that the Baylor program is where Noel wanted to be. He stayed through the coach Dave Aranda debut and will play in Waco for next season.

Schools like Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Utah and Texas Tech made a push for him, but Baylor got his signature.

For the three-star defender, it was not only his love for the school, but a couple of hometown guys on the roster that helped seal the deal.

"I talk to the Baylor coaches a lot, but I also know a couple guys on the team too," Noel said. "They wanted to make sure I end up in Waco."

And that he did.

The key for Noel is his size and speed in the secondary. He is open to playing corner or safety once in Waco.

"I plan to put in the work. I think that I will be able to work myself in the rotation," Noel said. "I don't think that I will be redshirted. I'm excited. High school ball went by fast (but) I can't wait to get to Waco."
