LEWISVILLE, TEXAS — Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, the leader in football coverage in the state of Texas, announced Tuesday the acquisition of Texan Live, the state’s foremost broadcaster of Texas high school sports.
Over the past half-decade, Texan Live has established itself as the statewide leader in digital streaming of live high school sports events, from football to basketball to volleyball and beyond. With this acquisition, it will now serve as the event broadcasting arm of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, merging two of the state’s powers in the Texas high school sports space.
“As somebody that grew up in South Texas, I’ve had a passion for high school sports and high school football all my life,” said Bert Brocker, Texan Live founder and vice president of live events. “I started Texan Live with the idea of giving grandparents, family, and friends that could not make the game an opportunity to still watch the game. We grew from 40 games our first year, to doing more than 1,000 games.
“The Texan Live brand is now part of DCTF, the most respected Texas high school football sports brand. It was not a hard decision to make when we were given this opportunity because we now can grow to a level Texas would expect.”
For more than 60 years, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football — a part of Sports in Action LLC — has been “the bible” to millions of football fans across the Lone Star State. The annual summer edition of the magazine remains a rite of passage for all Texans, previewing every football team in the state — from the rabid world of Texas high school football, through the college ranks, and into the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans.
Over the course of six decades, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football remains the undisputed leader in Texas high school football, Texas college football and more.
TexasFootball.com is the online home of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, covering high school football, college football and recruiting all across the Lone Star State. From thought-provoking commentary to videos to podcasts to its daily live show, nobody covers football in Texas like TexasFootball.com.
“We cannot be more excited to have the Texan Live brand and their great relationships in in this state join the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football family,” said Adam Hochfelder, president of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football and Sports In Action. “Bert Brocker and his team have really started something special and grown their company to be a force in Texas. Our goal with this new endeavor is to keep finding ways to celebrate, highlight, and promote high school sports in Texas. “We also want to diversify our subscribers options on great content. Texan Live’s expansive array of live web streaming does just that. We could not be more thrilled to work with Bert and his team.”
