Wednesday

2A Division II

Post (15-0) vs Shiner (13-0)

Shiner 2022 DT Doug Brooks: Brooks is much more than a defensive tackle as he will sometimes line up in the backfield to deliver clutch runs in critical situations. He plays low on defense, and with a quick first step, he is too fast and powerful, giving offensive linemen big problems trying to block him. Houston has extended an offer, but look for him to get a lot of attention if he has a strong performance in front of a statewide audience.

Thursday

2A Division I

Windthorst (14-1) vs Mart (14-0)

Mart 2021 ATH Roddrell Freeman: Freeman will be vying for his fourth state championship ring, a feat that will earn him recognition as one of the state's most elite prospects. He was named the Offensive MVP after rushing for 168 yards and three touchdowns in Panthers' 25-20 win over Hamlin in the 2A Division II state title game in 2019. Freeman reports offers from Texas Tech and Prairie View A&M.

3A Division II

Canadian (14-1) vs. Franklin (12-2)

Franklin 2023 ATH Bryson Washington: At 6'1, 180 pounds, Washington is the type of prospect who can do a little bit of everything on the field, and he does. He has the size and speed that will open eyes and should be a Class of 2023 prospect on many radars. He has track speed that makes him a mismatch nightmare. Washington is the cousin of former TCU standout Jalen Reagor.

3A Division I

Jim Ned (13-1) vs. Hallettsville (13-2)

Hallettsville 2021 RB Jonathon Brooks: Brooks is coming off a colossal semifinal performance where he gashed the Llano defense for over 300 yards and seven touchdowns. It is a big week for the No. 54 rated prospect in the DCTF Hot 100 as he will sign with the Texas Longhorns on Wednesday and then put his talents on display, attempting to lead the Brahmas to their first state title win in program history. Get your popcorn ready!

Friday

4A Division II

Gilmer (14-1) vs. Carthage (13-0)

Carthage 2022 LB Kip Lewis:  As the 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive force has started to develop into a legitimate Power Five conference-level talent as he has matured on the field throughout the season. While he is not necessarily a known commodity in the recruiting circles, it is a sure bet that he will be when the final whistle blows in this game. Lewis has the energy, character, frame upside and downhill speed you look for in a top linebacker prospect.

4A Division I

Argyle (15-0) vs. Lindale (13-2)

Lindale 2021 RB Jordan Jenkins: Argyle is the overwhelming favorite to win that game, but Lindale has hoe powered by the DCTF four-star prospect. Jenkins, who is committed to playing his college ball at Baylor, is the type of runner who will wear down a defense with the ground and pound but has the 10.97 100-meter dash speed to make the homerun plays. Jenkins checks in at No. 31 in the DCTF Hot 100.
