Murphy is rated as the No. 93 overall prospect in the DCTF Top 100 and is the No. 4 DT in the state.
Next Level Athlete Scouting Report:
Murphy is an interior defensive line prospect with good quickness off the ball and an explosive first step. He uses his hands well to create separation. Murphy attacks with a bull rush most of the time but has plenty of quickness to escape blocks on the move. He moves well laterally and plays with a high motor. He added some weight heading into 2019 that helped him develop into an elite prospect upfront, but he did not lose any of the quicks that made him unique.
Murphy has been playing even better as a senior, putting the aforementioned attributes all together into a total package. He is a defensive tackle prospect who would actually remind some folks of Ed Oliver coming out of Sprig Westfield. He not only has the physique but many of the same explosive qualities in his game. He is a prospect to watch in the rankings as he has made a strong case for a rankings bump.
Murphy racked up 98 tackles and six sacks to earn first-team all-state and first-team all-district honors in 2019.
