Shadow Creek 2021 OLB Terrence Cooks II (6'3, 205) committed to Texas over 36 national-level offers like Baylor, Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Oklahoma.

Cooks is the 18th known verbal commitment towards the Longhorns 2021 recruiting efforts.

The DCTF four-star checks in as the No. 3 OLB in the state and the No. 49 prospect overall in the DCTF Hot 100.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report:

Cooks picked up so many offers because he does so many things well and has upside. He is a physical outside linebacker prospect who can stay on the field for all three downs. He runs well in the open field and can cover ground quickly to combat the run or cover routes. Cooks has a rangy body-type and is an excellent edge-blitzer because he has suddenness to close on the ball and gives good chase and catch from the backside.

He shows his passion for the game on the kick-cover unit, and that prowess on special teams speaks well to his ability to see the field early in his college career.

Cooks racked up 72 tackles, two tackles for a loss, and forced three fumbles on his way to second-team all-district honors in 2019. He helped lead the Sharks to a 5A Division I state title.

Cooks' father (Terrence Cooks Sr.) played linebacker at Nicholls State and in the NFL for the New England Patriots.
