When the term athlete is used in the realm of football, is usually describes a player who plays on both offense and defense. But for Beaumont United 2022 ATH Chandler Rivers (5-11,175), to say he does it all is an understatement. Rivers is a playmaker on offense, defense, and special teams.

This athleticism makes him a favorable prospect to college football coaches. To date, he has 15 offers from schools across the country.

Houston, UAB, Illinois State, Colorado, Duke, Missouri, FAU and Tennessee are just a few of the programs that have offered, and a few programs stand out from the pack.

“Four schools stand out to me: Ole Miss, Kansas, Missouri and Duke. Coaches are reaching out to me and really getting to know me,” Rivers said. “I talk to them every day, and it is starting to feel like family.”

To date, Rivers has had two virtual visits with Ole Miss and Kansas. He described them as “unique and different” and added that he liked them both.

Schools like TCU, Texas Tech, Nebraska, SMU and Northwestern are in communication as well.

Most programs are recruiting him as a defensive back, but his versatility is a selling point to allow him to play multiple positions if needed.
