Katy Taylor butters its bread with a powerful run game.  

Mammoth DCTF four-star prospects 2021 OG Bryce Foster (6'5, 330) and 2021 OT Hayden Conner (6'6, 340) have immense size up front and quickly clear lanes. 

Conner is already verbally committed to Texas, but Foster remains uncommitted. 

Oklahoma and Texas A&M are rumored to have a leg up in Foster's recruitment, but the No. 1 rated OG maintains that all of the schools in his top five remain firmly in the race. 

"My top five is LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon and Oklahoma," Foster reaffirmed. "They're all on an even playing field. I'm going to try to get up to a few of those schools (for visits), but they're all kind of even-ish right now. 

I might have a favorite; you don't know. I kind of like being the mystery man."

Foster mentioned that he is looking for a program that provides a good education and can prepare him for a future in the NFL and the 2024 Olympics. 

Foster is viewed as one of the best shot-putters and discus throwers in the nation. The goal of making it to the 2024 Olympics appears to be necessary to Foster and should be noted in his recruitment.

As a program, Taylor is in the midst of a strong streak of football dating to last year's playoff run. The Mustangs advanced to the 6A Division II semifinals after finishing fourth in district. 

Taylor is 6-1 heading into a critical showdown with Katy High, who is entering the game fresh off a loss to Katy Tompkins. 
 
Foster believes the conviction within his program has grown since last year and shown in their journey and development.

"Confidence," Foster said while reflecting on his team. "So far this year, we've walked into games not caring who the team we are playing is. Last year we walked into a few games where we saw the title of the team and everyone was freaking out thinking they need to do more than they can handle." 

He believes they trust each other even more this year, and that has his program heading in the right direction.
