For his first game, Euless Trinity 2022 RB Ollie Gordon (6-2, 205) experienced the highs and lows all in one night. His on the field work was nothing less than stellar, with over 220 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Combine this with the game-winning touchdown catch against Arlington Lamar, and it was quite a night.

However, he would leave that game with pain as he suffered an injury to his clavicle.

“I was running the ball and fell. Then I think a player fell on top of me,” Gordon said. “I was supposed to be out 4-6 weeks, but I’m coming back this week this week against L.D. Bell.”

By press time, this game will be played, as there was an excitement for Gordon to get back on the field and play with his guys. It looks as though he is ready to continue the dominance that he had from a solid sophomore season and a strong start as a junior.

Of course, this has helped him gain plenty of attention from college coaches from across the country. To date, he holds five Division I offers, with a few in talks about adding to that list.

“Right now, I have offers from Iowa State, Houston, Washington State, Nevada and Utah. No schools stand out for me right now,” Gordon said. “I really want to get through my junior year. With the colleges, I need to see something because I haven’t taken any visits.”

Like many athletes, visits have not happened much. However, Gordon did say that he was on a virtual tour recently with Memphis, a school that has shown lots of interest lately. Cincinnati was the other school he has been talking to.

Utah has been the program keeping the most constant communication.

“I talk to the Utah coaches the most. They have been calling and checking on me since I got hurt,” Gordon said. “They ask about my X-rays and making sure I’m good.”

Gordon said that coaches like him as a big, athletic running back who is physical. While he says he is best out of the backfield, he is also solid out of the backfield in the passing game.

“I feel like I can do a lot on the field. Schools don’t know what’s coming,” Gordon said.
