Garland 2022 RB Jayson Powers (6-0, 188) has hit the ground running with his team. With a 3-0 start, he and his team have high hopes for the 2020 season.

Simultaneously, the top 2022 prospect has seen some significant movement in the recruiting process, landing two early offers with a host of other programs interested.

“Right now, I have offers from Illinois State and Oklahoma State. Baylor, Houston, Colorado, Texas and San Diego State are all talking to me as well,” Powers said. “There’s a bunch more looking at me that I cannot name right now, but there is definitely more interest.”

For Powers, the highest-ranked program in the Big 12 Conference, Oklahoma State, is standing out to him at the moment. It is also the only program of his offers which he has visited. Last year he made the trip to Stillwater to see the Pokes play Baylor.

He recapped that 2019 experience.

“It was a great visit to watch Oklahoma State play. I like the coaches a lot,” Powers said. “They are really chill, and I got a good vibe with them. Especially coach Woz (running backs coach John Wozniak). He’s cool.”

Powers said that colleges like his versatility to make plays from out of the backfield or in the slot, which he does get the opportunity to do in specific packages for the Owls.
