Prospect on the Rise

Fort Worth All Saints 2021 ATH Montaye Dawson (5'8, 177) rushed for 359 yards and scored five touchdowns to help the Saints beat Azle in game one.

Dawson is verbally committed to play his college ball at SMU. he picked the Mustangs over Power Five Conference offers like Baylor, Texas Tech, Arizona, Nebraska and more.

Dawson is looking to climb up the rankings ladder in the DCTF Hot 100. Currently, he is rated as the No. 70 prospect and the No. 4 ATH.

Commit of the Week

Argyle 2021 TE Jasper Lott (6'5, 255) committed to TCU over offers from Texas Tech, Arkansas and Ole Miss.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Lott is a two-way standout at Argyle, but his ability as a big target for his quarterback has college coaches watching closely. He is also an asset as a blocker, and he has the look and plays like a traditional in-line tight end. He could be just as valuable on the defensive front if a position switch is warranted moving forward. Lott is a great all-around football player.

Lott is rated as the No. 1 TE in the DCTF Hot 100. Argyle is ranked No. 1 in the DCTF 4A Division I rankings.

Underclassmen of the Week

Newton 2022 RB De'Anthony Gatson (5'10, 210) helped the Eagles get back in the win column with a monster performance in a 72-7 win over Kountze.

Gatson rushed for an impressive 301 yards and four touchdowns in the win and was nominated for Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week.

Gatson, a standout at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Houston, holds early offers from Houston, TCU and Iowa State.

Recruit of the Week

Denton Ryan 2021 DE Ja'Tavion Sanders (6'4, 240) is already rated as the No. 1 DE and the No. 3 prospect in the state per the DCTF Hot 100, but he is making a case for the overall top spot with a strong showing in a week one win over Arlington Martin.

The Texas commit made a splash on both sides of the football in the 47-24 win. He racked up seven catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns on offense and had a 69-yard interception return for a TD, six tackles, and a TFL on defense.

Sanders was nominated for Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week honors following his dominant performance.
