Houston football's matchup against the Memphis Tigers has been rescheduled for Dec. 5 in Memphis.

The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 19, but Memphis had to pull out after a wave of positive COVID-19 cases. It was announced at the time that the conference game would likely be rescheduled.

Memphis has won four straight matchups against the Cougars, including a 45-27 win over Houston in 2019. The Tigers earned an AAC championship and trip to the Cotton Bowl in Mike Norvell's final season.

The Cougars have had five games postponed or cancelled to this point, including nonconference matchups against Rice, Baylor and North Texas. With the addition, Houston is up to nine games.

Houston opens the season at 6:30 p.m. on Oct 8 at TDECU Stadium on ESPN.
