Since December 2017, Richmond Foster 2021 OT Reuben "Deuce" Fatheree (6-8, 307) has gained college coaches' attention across the country. But only one school has been involved in his life for many years. Alums and supporters of Texas A&M have surrounded Fatheree for as long as he remembers.

And because of that, the choice for him to ultimately commit there was almost inevitable.
 
"In my life, I have been surrounded by the Aggie family. Many people in my life, teachers and people in the community have been around me a lot," Fatheree said. "I grew up watching Texas A&M games, and I am excited to be a part of that program."
 
Over the summer, he made it be known. 

On June 1, Fatheree committed to the Texas A&M coaches over offers from LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor and Notre Dame. Based on the events that have happened over the past few years, it was evident that the interest between the two was entirely mutual.
 
Despite all the attention from other programs, Fatheree has made trips to College Station nearly 10 times since his sophomore year. The connection and familiarity with everything Aggies played a considerable role in his decision. 
 
With a commitment as strong as this, other programs likely have a tough time to keep pursuing Fatheree. He stated that there had been some, but not too much.
 
"I still hear some from LSU and Texas, but not that much. I've been seeing many who support me from the A&M program," Fatheree said. "With Texas A&M, I feel like it's the greatest alumni in the country. It's greater than most, really all, in my opinion."
 
Surely Texas A&M alums from across the state and country love the sound of that as they are confident that they nabbed a good one. Fatheree has a long frame and impressive athleticism for his size. As a three-sport athlete (basketball and track) has the mobility to project as an instant impact player.
 
This past offseason, Fatheree had plenty of extra time to prepare for this upcoming season, due to no spring sports or spring football. He credits that situation to the gains he made.
 
"Being away from the other sports I play really taught me how to work and train on my own. Offseason taught me a lot of patience," Fatheree said. "I've gotten so much stronger because of it. Before, I wasn't able to lift as much because of basketball. This past spring, I was able to focus more on football."
 
After a solid finish last season and going three rounds deep into the playoffs, Fatheree and the Foster team look to build on last year's success. At the end of this month, he and his team will open the season up against Lamar Consolidated on Friday. 

Fatheree is rated as a DCTF four-star prospect, checking in as the No. 12 prospect in the Hot 100 and the No. 4 OT.
