No. 3 Jonesboro (3-0) at Blum (2-0)

When: Friday 7:30

The Eagles travel to face the defending Division 1 State Champions in the biggest game out of the east so far this season. This is actually a rematch of last year's semifinals, where the Bobcats prevailed 52-30.

Jonesboro actually returns a more veteran team and had their way with their first two opponents before a stiff challenge from Johnson Country Sports Association.

Blum has shown no signs of falling back to the field so far this year, despite having to rebuild at their skill positions on offense. The Bobcats did not get to test themselves early when their week two Union Hill game was canceled due to COVID issues. They will make up for that in spades over the next three straight weeks with games against Jonesboro, May and Abbott.

PREDICTION: Jonesboro 56, Blum 36

OTHERS TO KEEP AN EYE ON

Borden County (2-1) at Sterling City (3-0) - No rest for the weary, as the west Texas gauntlet continues for both top-5 teams.

Jayton (3-0) at O’Donnell (2-1) – It’s a shame Springlake Earth had to cancel, but this is still another great opportunity for O’Donnell against one of the best teams in Division 2. On the other hand, the Jaybirds are able to add a quality opponent after Rotan canceled earlier in the week.
