GAME OF THE WEEK

O’Donnell (2-0) at No. 3 Sterling City (2-0)

When: Friday, 7:30

What does O’Donnell have to do to break the top-10? In consecutive weeks they have toppled former top-10 teams Gordon and Garden City. Their reward? The number three team in the state. Watch for their running backs, Thunder and Lightning, Caleb Lowe and Blaze Garces, as they try and control the ball against a talented Sterling City bunch.

Sterling City for their part started the season with a couple of top-10 wins themselves, first toppling rival Garden City by 48 points and then a squeaker over #7 May last weekend.

PREDICTION: Sterling City 66, O’Donnell 42

Honorable Mention: Happy (2-0) at Springlake Earth (2-0) – Can Springlake Earth enter the top-10 or will the Town Without a Frown continue their winning ways?

Loraine (2-0) at Westbrook (2-0) – The Battle of Mitchell County

Rankin (2-0) at Borden County (1-1) – Rankin seems to be hitting their stride, while BC needs to bounce back

Dime Box (0-0) at Prairie Lea (0-0) – Both teams finally start the season. Prairie Lea has been sidelined with COVID-19 exposure, but the highlight here is this will be the first official UIL football game in Dime Box school history! The Longhorns played an abbreviated ‘outlaw’ schedule against private schools last year.
