Five-star QB Quinn Ewers commits to Texas Longhorns

Southlake Carroll five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers committed to the Texas Longhorns on Friday.

Ewers, the lone five-star in the Class of 2022 on TexasFootball.com, threw for 4,003 yards and 45 touchdowns with just three interceptions last season.

He averaged 356 passing yards per game in the playoffs with 17 touchdowns and zero interceptions in four games. 

Ewers had offers from the top programs in the country, including Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Alabama, Auburn, USC, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami and Michigan. 

The last No. 1 overall prospect to commit to Texas was Vince Young in 2002.
