Prospect on the Rise

Shadow Creek 2021 QB Kyron Drones (6'2, 200) was the only prospect in the state to pick up a fourth star in the updated DCTF Hot 100 rankings.

Drones, who helped lead Shadow Creek to a 6A Division II state title in 2019, was one the quarterbacks who was selected as Elite 11 following a strong performance at the prestigious QB camp.

Drones is verbally committed to Baylor.

Commit of the Week

Fort Worth North Side 2021 WR DaWain Lofton (5'10, 175) is an elite slot wide receiver prospect who committed to Virginia Tech over offers from SMU, Colorado, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Washington State and more.

Lofton was one of the standouts at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Dallas.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Lofton is one of those football players who has decent track times but runs even better in the pads. He catches everything that is thrown his way. Lofton turns into a running back after the catch and is hard to tackle in open spaces. All-in-all he is precisely what you are looking for in a slot wide receiver.

Underclassman of the Week

Tyler Lee 2022 RB Jamarion Miller (5'10, 185) picked up two new in-state offers this week from Baylor and Texas Tech.

The Bears and Red Raiders join schools like SMU, UTSA, Arkansas and Oklahoma State on his early offer list.

Miller was one of the standouts at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Dallas.

He was a first-team all-district selection as a sophomore in 2019 after rushing for 1,031 yards and ten touchdowns.

Recruit of the Week

Shadow Creek 2021 OLB Terrence Cooks II (6'2, 210) named a top six, and three in-state schools made the cut: Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M.

Oklahoma, Georgia and Washington round out the list for one of the nation's most coveted defensive prospects.

The four-star prospect checks in as the No. 49 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100.

Cooks plans to announce his decision in October.
