Texas A&M and Arkansas have only played in College Station once since the Southwest Conference folded. At long last, the Southwest Classic is set to head back to Kyle Field. 

The Aggies’ game against the Razorbacks – which is usually played at AT&T Stadium – will move to College Station for the 2020 season after the SEC moved to a conference-only schedule, according to athletic director Ross Bjork. 

The Southwest Classic was originally scheduled for Sept. 26 at AT&T Stadium. However, with a revised scheduling coming, it’s unclear whether the game will still fall on the same day, which would create potential scheduling issues. 

Additionally, playing a neutral site game could provide some complications with procedures that could prove more difficult than a home game. Since the Aggies are the home team in this year’s matchup with Arkansas, the game heads to College Station. 

The Aggies and Razorbacks have played 32 times in College Station, primarily when both were members of the Southwest Conference. The Razorbacks hold a narrow 14-17-1 edge, but the Aggies have won five of the last six at Kyle Field, including a 58-10 beatdown in 2012. 

Texas A&M has won eight straight games against Arkansas overall, a streak that is expected to continue in 2020 as first-year head coach Sam Pittman takes over in Fayetteville.
