Alvin Shadow Creek 2021 WR Carlton "CJ" Guidry (5'11, 170) picked Houston over offers from Texas Tech, UTSA, Arizona, Kansas, Nebraska, Tennessee and more.

"I would like to say that I will be staying home (and) committing to the University of Houston," Guidry said.

Guidry is rated as a three-star DCTF prospect. He has been clocked with a 10.84 100-meter dash.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Guidry has elite track speed and is a smooth runner. He can take the short pass the distance and has excellent return skills. He is speedy, but he is also a polished route runner. He can take a short pass and turn it into a big gain. Additionally, Guidry is an excellent return man. With that collection of skills, it is easy to understand why so many P5 schools offered.

Guidry collected 25 passes for 612 yards and nine scores to help lead Shadow Creek to the 6A Division II state championship, securing first team all-district honors along the way.

Guidry joins fellow Shadow Creek teammate CB Jalen Emery (5'11, 180) on the Class of 2021 Houston commit list.
