Prospect on the Rise

Salado 2021 ATH Wrook Brown (5'11, 175) picked up his first offer from ULM.

According to Salado head coach Alan Haire, the Class 4A star lines up all over the field for the Eagles.

"Wrook is special not only as a person but a special teammate that is humble and unselfish," Haire said.

"Wrook has been a starter for three years now and has done everything for us. P/K/RB/WR/DB. Team first kid that could care less who gets the credit as long as his team is successful. In 29 years of coaching, Wrook has the most potential to make a difference at the next level of any player I have coached!"

Brown could factor in at a number of different positions at the next level, but his closing speed on defense is unique.

Commit of the Week

Flower Mound DE Stone Eby (6'4, 245) picked SMU over offers Baylor, Duke, Iowa State, Purdue, Washington State and more.

Eby is rated as a three-star prospect and was one of the standouts at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Dallas.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Eby has perfect length and has plenty of room to add more weight to his frame. When playing DE, he shows a good initial step and quickness. Eby appears to be much stronger in the upper body (from the end of the season to January), getting good press and separation from blockers.

Underclassman of the Week

Lubbock Estacado 2022 OL Jihad Lateef (6'4, 275) picked up a new offer from Arizona State this week.

Lateef also has offers from North Texas, Colorado State, Kansas and Tulsa.

Keep a close eye on the recruitment of 2-4A District Newcomer of the Year, because he is about to explode with significant offers.

Lateef played left tackle and helped lead his team to a 12-1 record as a sophomore in 2019.

Recruit of the Week

Duncanville 2021 LB Kendrick Blackshire (6'2, 245) named a final three of Texas A&M, Alabama and LSU.

Blackshire plans to decide at some point in July and it looks like the Crimson Tide may have a slight advantage in his recruitment at this point.

The four-star DCTF prospect missed his junior season at Duncanville with a torn ACL but was already established as a national recruit with offers from coast-to-coast.

LSU was his first offer way back in June of 2017.
