Yesterday, Lubbock Coronado 2021 QB Sawyer Robertson (6'4, 205) announced his intentions to play at Mississippi State.

Robertson, who joins fellow TXHSFB QB Daniel Greek on the Bulldogs' commitment list, picked MSU over offers from schools like TCU, Texas, Arizona State, Florida State, USC and Arkansas.

Interestingly, Robertson has committed to play two sports in Starkville: Football and Baseball. (Note: His scholarship will count against the 85-man football scholarship limit per NCAA rules)

"A special thanks to Coach (Mike) Leach and Coach (Chris) Lemonis and the entire football and baseball staffs at Mississippi State for believing in me and giving me this opportunity," Robertson reported. "With all that being said, I will be continuing my football and baseball career at Mississippi State."

What Mississippi State is Getting in Robertson: Robertson plays under control and shows a lot of poise in the pocket. He has a good arm and does not have to load up to make all the throws, which helps with his accuracy. He's not super-athletic but does a great job moving around the pocket to buy time when needed.

Robertson was not the only TXHSFB prospect to announce this week. Katy 2021 RB Brandon Campbell (5'11, 195) committed to USC and Mansfield Legacy 2021 DE David Abiara (6'4, 230) committed Notre Dame.

What USC is Getting in Brandon Campbell: Expected running back build. Should play at 200-plus pounds in college reasonably easily. Terrific combine tester with a 4.58-second 40 and a sub-4.10 pro agility time. Flashes good burst and top-end speed to hit big plays. Among Texas' top backs in the 2020 class.

USC beat Alabama, Penn State, LSU, Florida and TCU for Campbell's pledge.

Campbell was named TexasFootball.com's Commit of the Week and is one of the most-heavily FBS-offered prospects in the state.

What Notre Dame is Getting in David Abiara: Abiara has all the tools. He has the size, frame, and athleticism to be a national recruit, and he is already picking up elite offers. He is quick and explosive off of the ball, and his main focus is to make plays behind the line of scrimmage and sack the quarterback.

Notre Dame beat Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Alabama and LSU for Abiara's pledge.
