We want to celebrate senior student-athletes across the state of Texas who have had their seasons cut short due to the Coronavirus pandemic! Have a male or female student-athlete you think deserves recognition? Email us at william.wilkerson@texasfootball.com with a bit about what makes them so special, including on-field and classroom accomplishments and pictures!

"I would like to nominate Ana Liset Quintana - Waskom High School.

She is a senior Soccer captain and Track and Field, Cross Country athlete.

Ana’s GPA is 3.9. She is ranked 11th out of 70 kids in her class. President of the NHS. She works so hard to not only better herself as an athlete but to set herself apart from the typical teenagers who’s selfish nature plagues our young adults today.

In spite of the abrupt end to her senior year she is not gloomy about it but is using this as a reflection of what life will actually be like as an adult. Full of unexpected surprises that you just have to deal with and adapt."

"I am the cross country and track coach at Waskom High School. I would love to see Liset Quintana honored as an amazing student-athlete.

"Liset has been on varsity track, cross country and soccer for 4 years. She has remained on the A honor roll and has been a part of many school committees and organizations. She is a great leader and has been the captain of all 3 sports. She is very selfless and always wants what is best for the team.

"At our 2018 district cross country meet our varsity team had a chance to win district. After looking at all the times going into that meet Liset knew she may not be able to keep up with the team and could possibly keep us from winning 1st place. At that time she made the decision to remove herself from varsity and ran JV that day. Our varsity team won district and Liset won JV. I have never been more proud of an athlete in my life.

"As many other seniors, she has been robbed of most of her senior year. She had been attending many soccer camps and had planned to attend more before this crazy virus took over. She has aspirations to continue playing soccer in college. I pray that none of this keeps her from doing just that. Thank you for honoring Liset!!"
