_____

@ByJacksonPosey Who comes out of 27-6A? Judson(?)/Clemens/Steele seem like locks but the SV/EC/NB/Wagner mix for #4 will be tight.#AskDCTF

Matt Stepp: Gotta see how the off-season transpires, but Clemens did sneak up on the Rockets a year ago.....my early pick is still Converse Judson

Ish Johnson: SV won that San Antonio district three years ago! Plus, Wagner gave Judson a run for their money in 2018 if I remember correctly. I’m going to say Judson based off history and consistency, but who knows with that powerhouse district.

_____

@snowlion53 @dctf  When do you thing Mart ISN'T going to be loaded? #AskDCTF

Stepp: 2050, seriously the Panthers just keep churning out great teams.

Ish: As long as Kevin Hoffman is there, I do not have an answer. They were “supposed” to be rebuilding this past season with that talented senior class gone but now they’re reloaded with sophomores and juniors who have a state title under their belt.

Ashley Pickle: Mart will continue to Mart.

_____

Jacob Jon: What are the top blood feuds that have emerged within the past decade?

Stepp: In the high school ranks North Shore and Katy has definitely emerged as quite the rivalry, Shiner and Refugio down in the 2A ranks has always been a great rivalry and its definitely heated up the past ten years.

_____

Gary Crouch: Has anyone appealed their UIL district assignment?

Stepp: Geronimo Navarro and Wimberley are appealing their placement and word is Pottsboro is considering an appeal.

_____

Aaron Arbuckle: Based on realignment, who has the best chance to win their region in each classification?

Stepp: It's super early for region by region breakdowns, look for something this in-depth later on when we really start digging into who is back and how things stack up.  But I'll give a couple from each class that I anticipate will be in the mix in their respective regions

6A: North Shore, Duncanville (duh)

5A D1: Longview, Red Oak

5A D2: Aledo, Huntsville

4A D1: Waco La Vega, Corpus Christi Miller

4A D2: Carthage, Texarkana Pleasant Grove

3A D1: Grandview, Brock

3A D2: Canadian, Eastland

2A D1: Cisco, Refugio

2A D2: Mart, Wellington

Ish: I don’t know about every classification, but I think Manvel was a big winner in 5A DI with Longview getting kicked over to Region II. And potentially Liberty Hill, Boerne Champion, Kerrville Tivy in 5A DII Region 4 with the Corpus Christi area schools dropping down. All of a sudden, their path looks a lot lighter.

_____

Tristan Sutterfield: What’s Tascosa’s chances at a deep playoff run in 5A?

Stepp: Very good, this is a team that's won seven playoff games the past two years at the 6A level, there's no question the Rebels will be in the mix in 2020, they key with that option based offense is finding a replacement Joseph Plunk who ran that offense to perfection.

Ish: Very good, they have key pieces to replace but they’re easily one of the marquee teams in 5A DI Region 1. Off the top of my head, I’d probably only have Red Oak and Colleyville Heritage in their conversation.

_____

Joe Recruit: Who are your top 3 #txhsfb 2021 players and college football players playing for in-state programs?

Ish: I’m going to go with favorite instead of “best” or “talented”:

HS: Landon Jackson, Eddie Lee Marburger and Ace Whitehead

College: Shane Buechele, Sincere McCormick and Sam Ehlinger

_____

Tommy Football: What are your FBS college football program rankings for the 2020 season?

Shehan Jeyarajah: This is an interesting year for college football because there aren’t a ton of proven stars. However, there are still a few guys who immediately come to mind.

I’m going to cheat for my first one and call it a tie between Sam Ehlinger from Texas and Shane Buechele as our quarterback representative. Both are set to have huge years in 2020 and obviously should be among the biggest stars in the state. After them, wide receiver Reggie Roberson – also from SMU – is my guy. He finished with more than 800 yards and six touchdowns before getting hurt, but should only become a bigger factor now that James Proche is off to the NFL. He’s a complete matchup nightmare.

If I had to pick one defender, I’m going with a heavy projection pick: TCU safety Ar’Darius Washington. Washington was a freshman last season and quickly proved to be one of the top safeties in the state. With another year of experience under his belt, I really think that Washington can take the leap and be one of the most impactful defenders in America.

Ish: Texas A&M

Baylor

SMU

Texas

TCU

Texas Tech

Rice

Houston

Texas State

North Texas

UTSA

UTEP
