Texas closed National Signing Day with a bang when Cedar Creek 2020 DE Alfred Collins (6'5, 270) announced that he was signing with Texas over offers from Alabama and Oklahoma.

"First off I want to thank God for giving me this awesome opportunity to play football," Collins said right before he popped a balloon that was filled with Burnt Orange powder signaling his commitment to Texas.

Collins commitment gives the Horns four commitments from the Top 16 highest-rated prospects in the state per the DCTF Hot 100. Collins checks in as the No. 16 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100.

Scouting Report: Collins has the frame to play strongside defensive end or move to the interior in college. The four-star defender is relentless in his pursuit of the ball and uses his hands well to disengage. He chews up the run. Collins is extremely athletic for a big-bodied defensive lineman.

A three-year Academic All-District selection, Collins is a well-rounded prospect who brings it on and off the field.

Collins was a member of the DCTF Super Team and an All-American selection.
