2021 Argyle Liberty Christian QB Daniel Greek (6'4, 220) made his commitment to Mississippi State on Sunday morning.

"I went on my visit this weekend, and I knew this is where I wanted to be because they have a great coaching staff, it is a beautiful campus, and it is also in the SEC on the biggest platform in college football," Greek explained.

Mississippi State recently extended Greek an offer, but he has been building a strong relationship with Mike Leach and his staff for a while now.

"Well, I have known coach (Dave) Nichol (Inside Receivers) for a while, and I have talked with him and coach (Dave) Emerick ever since they recruited me at Washington State," Greek said.  "I have got to know coach Leach a little bit, and I know that the staff is amazing."

This weekend was Greek's first time on the MSU campus, but it did not take long for him to fall in love with it.

"It's beautiful," Greek said. "It is spread out but also has that hometown feel. They have around 20,000 students. There are a lot of nice people, kind of that southern hospitality. It felt great."

Greek has a long-standing familiarity with Mike Leach and his 'Air Raid' offense.

"My dad (Argyle Liberty Christian Head Coach Steven Greek) learned from him, and we formed our offense around his 'Air Raid,'" Greek explained. "I have run it since I was very young, so that also helps with the transition and the decision making, so overall, I felt like it was the best fit for me."

"He has just been an instrumental part of this. I really appreciate him investing in me and seeing my ability. I am also really looking forward to working with him and his staff and building a flagship program."

Greek picked Mississippi State over offers from Duke, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Washington State and many more.

Over the past two seasons, Greek has completed 375-of-644 (58%) for 4,000 yards and 37 touchdowns.
