DCTF is partnered with Next Level Athlete to help create our TXHSFB Hot 100 in the Class of 2020.

The Texas high school football coach’s recommendation and in-person evaluations play a significant role in DCTF’s rankings process. Through those combined efforts we try to provide our fans an accurate guideline to track the top college-bound prospects in the state.

A New No. 1

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Rockwall): The talented pass-catcher had a historic TXHSFB career. He was at his best in pressure situations. The Ohio State signee is the total package away from the field. Testing wise, the five-star prospect has what it takes to make NFL scouts happy, but it is his unmatched production, consistency, and hand strength that makes him special.

New Five-Stars

ATH Drew Sanders (Denton Ryan): Sanders has great film and raw untapped upside as a defensive prospect. A two-way standout with NFL No. 1 pick potential. The Alabama signee will likely transition to defense (WDE) full time in Tuscaloosa. On that side of the ball, he plays with a nasty streak and has a rare blend of strength and quickness. Sanders is the No. 2 prospect in the state.

CB Jaylon Jones (Cibolo Stele): The Texas A&M signee has the size of a safety with the skillsets of a cornerback. You rarely find such a blend of assets in a DB. Jones is a smart player who understands the game. He is always striving to become a better player. Jones should draw some comparisons to former TXHSFB greats like Jamal Adams or Jeff Okudah. Jones is the No. 5 prospect in the state.

New Four-Stars

CB Ennis Rakestraw (Duncanville): He plays on a team loaded with talent, but he was able to grab the spotlight with a strong senior season. Rakestraw is an aggressive corner who possesses the height and length to lock down the opposition's No. 1 outside threat.

OT Casey Collier (Barbers Hill): Collier makes a big jump up after a strong senior year of tape. Collier has the right blend of size, length, and upside to develop into an all-conference type of player at USC.

ATH Frank Brown (Houston Sterling): You don't earn the nickname 'Showtime' without making some highlight-worthy plays, and Brown's senior tape is full of them. He had a seven touchdown performance in a 49-19 win over Northside. Kevin Sumlin and his staff at Arizona dipped into the Lone Star State and got a steal.
