Prospect on the Rise

Fort Worth North Side 2021 WR DaWain Lofton (5'10, 175) is an elite wide receiver prospect who's recruitment is about to take off nationally.

Lofton reports early offers from schools like Duke, Kansas and Virginia Tech. TCU is another program showing strong interest, and Lofton reports he would also be interested in schools like Alabama, LSU and Ohio State.

Lofton will attend the Next Level Athlete Top 100 Showcase in Dallas on Jan. 19.

Commit of the Week

Klein Oak 2020 DB Dwight McGlothern (6'2, 180) announced that he was committing to LSU.

McGlothern picked the Tigers over offers from schools like Baylor, USC and Virginia Tech.

McGlothern is rated as the No. 44 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: McGlothern is one of the best all-around defensive backs in the state. He has cover corner ability, free safety range, and he can play everything in between. His length allows him to make up ground in a hurry and he plays with a high football IQ.

Underclassman of the Week

Parish Episcopal 2021 QB Preston Stone (6'2, 205) was the first underclassmen prospect to commit during the broadcast of the All-American Bowl, and he announced that he would stay home and play for SMU.

Stone was one of the most heavily recruited quarterback prospects in the nation and his commitment gives the Mustangs a strong foundation to build their 2021 recruiting efforts around.

Just hours before his announcement news broke that SMU offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee would leave SMU for the same job at Miami (FL), but Stone reports that he has "full confidence" in the direction of the SMU offense under the guidance of Sonny Dykes.

Recruit of the Week

No. 1 rated North Shore 2020 RB Zach Evans (5'11, 200) has had one of the most memorable weeks in the modern era of recruiting.

On Thursday, Evans took home MVP honors at the Under Armour All-America Game after rushing for 64 yards and a touchdown to help lead Team Pressure to a win.

Evans was set to announce that he had signed a Letter of Intent with Georgia during the game's broadcast, but that announcement was canceled. Subsequently, the five-star RB and was granted an unconditional release from that LOI on Tuesday.

Evans was considering schools like Alabama, LSU, and Texas A&M at the time he signed with the Bulldogs.
