Prospect on the Rise

Five-star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba captured a lot of the headlines, but SMU commit Raylen Sharpe (5'8, 150) had memorable performance for Allen in a 60-59 loss to Rockwall at AT&T Stadium on Friday night.

Sharpe passed for 459 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 112 yards and a score in the 60-59 loss.

Sharpe, who will play wide receiver at SMU, looks to shoot up the rankings lists after an eye-opening senior season.

Commit of the Week

Athens 2020 OT Garrett Hayes (6'6, 295) made a commitment to TCU.

Hayes selected the Horned Frogs over offers from schools like Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Hayes is an offensive line prospect with good length and a massive frame with plenty of room to add. He is a mauler at point of attack, quick off the ball, and plays with an edge.

Underclassman of the Week

Cedar Hill 2021 QB Kaidon Salter (6'1, 185) racked up over 400 yards and scored five touchdowns in the Longhorn's area championship loss to Denton Guyer.

Shortly after the game, Salter picked up his first P5 offer from Baylor. The Bears join Illinois State, Liberty, Texas Southern and William & Mary on his offer list.

In 2019, Salter completed 149 of 245 passes for 2,550 yards and 26 touchdowns, and he rushed for 616 yards and 10 scores.

Recruit of the Week

It was a busy week for Newton 2020 DE James Sylvester (6'5, 250).

He decommitted from TCU, helped lead the Eagles to a 48-14 playoff win over Troup, and then made a new verbal pledge to Baylor.

The four-star DE is rated as the No. 35 prospect overall in the DCTF Hot 100 and is the No. 5 DE in the state.
