Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Texas Tech and UTSA are some of the colleges that have committed prospects TexasFootball.com thinks could star in the UIL Texas High School Football Playoffs.

_____

6A-D1

ATH Ja'Quinden Jackson (6'2, 219 - 2020 - Duncanville):

Duncanville came just one play away from winning a state title last season, making Jackson one of the state's most experienced playoff veterans entering this year's tournament. He is a powerful runner with a cannon arm, but his best attribute is the way he leads his team with a calm, cool demeanor. Jackson is verbally committed to Texas. Jackson is rated as the No. 1 ATH in the DCTF Hot 100.

6A-D2

QB Haynes King (Longview - 2020 - 6'3, 180):

The Texas A&M commit is trying to lead Longview to back-to-back state titles for the first time in its history. King, the son of Lobos' head coach John King, has found a way to shine in pressure-filled situations. His loudest pop came when he took home Offensive MVP honors following last year's 35-34 win over Beaumont West Brook at AT&T Stadium. Haynes is rated as the No. 1 QB in the DCTF Hot 100.

5A-D1

ATH Drew Sanders (Denton Ryan - 2020 - 6'5, 235):

5A-D1 is loaded with top prospects, but look for Sanders to become an even bigger piece to the Denton Ryan puzzle as it marches deep into the playoffs. He can be utilized in many different ways on offense and defense, so he will get many opportunities to make game-changing plays. Thee Alabama commit is rated as the No. 5 prospect in the DCTF Top 100.

5A-D2

RB Jase McClellan (Aledo - 2020 - 5'10, 200):

If Aledo advances to the state title game, it ill be McClellan's fourth state title appearance. The No. 7 rated DCTF prospect has rushed for 382 yards and six scores in three state title games. With two championship rings on his fingers, the Oklahoma commit could cap off his illustrious prep career by taking home his first UIL MVP trophy. Aledo is the clear-cut favorite in 5A-D2, so he may get his chance.

4A-D1

ATH Kelvontay Dixon (Carthage - 2020 - 6'0, 170):

Dixon is the younger brother of Texas running back Keaontay Ingram, who won the Offensive MVP award following a state title win back in 2016. Carthage will be tough in the trenches, but Dixon will need to have some big moments if the Bulldogs want to hoise its third state title trophy in four years. Dixon is committed to Arkansas.

4A-D2

DE/TE Landon Jackson (Pleasant Grove - 2021 - 6'6, 240):

PG is a team loaded with D1 talent, but Jackson is a two-way standout who missed 2018 with a knee injury. His presence could be the difference-maker in the Hawks' title aspirations. Jackson is already considering offers from schools like Alabama, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M. He was named as a semifinalist for Mr. Texas Football Player of the Year.

3A-D1

QB Behren Morton (Eastland - 2021 - 6'2, 170):

Morton has made an early commitment to Texas Tech. He is a quarterback prospect who makes reads and reacts in an instant and is not afraid to try to fit the ball into a tight window. Morton has helped guide Eastland to a 9-1 record, checking in at No. 9 in DCTF's final Texas High School Football State Rankings. He's the type of QB who could truly lead his team to the promised land.

3A-D2

James Sylvester (Newton - 2020- 6'5, 250):

Newton is my pick to win 3A-D2, and the four-star defensive end is playing at a different level in 2019. Sylvester has the size and strength to overpower offensive linemen at the point of attack. The TCU commit is one of the top-rated prospects in any bracket regardless of class size, checking in as the No. 2 rated DE in the DCTF Hot 100.

2A-D1

ATH Donyai Taylor (Shiner - 2020 - 5'11, 175):

Shiner is always a threat to win the state title, but this year they are lining up with a bonafide D1 player at RB. Taylor is verbally committed to UTSA and will likely play wide receiver for the Roadrunners, but he is undoubtedly one of the TXHSFB's biggest small school stars.

2A-D2

TE Jalin Conyers (Gruver - 2020 - 6'5, 215):

The Oklahoma commit is rated as the No. 1 TE but plays quarterback for the Greyhounds. Gruver does not enter the playoffs as one of the clear-cut favorites to win the title, but Conyers is exactly the type of player who could take over and make it happen. Conyer's is one of the state's most elite two-sport athletes, helping lead his team to state championship appearances in football and basketball in 2018.
